Million Dollar Memory for Names & Faces IntroductionThis is where every concerned and caring person in America can make a difference. You can be part of the large group of people that will take the responsibility to assist young, defenseless children. You can be the one who helps the abducted child return home to his family. You'll help them by using your brainpower, your trained mind and your trained memory. Statistics from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) tell us that a child is reported missing in the United States every 37 seconds. These types of statistics vary widely regarding the number of missing children reported each year depending on the way each particular entity defines "missing." According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Crime Information Center (NCIC), there were over 725,000 missing children reports filed in the year 2001. This translates to over 2,000 reports per day where the disappearance of a child was serious enough that a parent called law enforcement and the report was entered intoNCIC's database. Fortunately, the vast majority of these cases are resolved within 24 hours. Many children are victims of family abductions. Familyabductions can be just as dangerous as stranger abducutions, with the child being used as a tool for revenge against the other parent. Other missing children are abducted by strangers, with some children murdered, tortured, molested or turned into sex slaves. According to the National District Attorneys Association, 65% of those abducted and murdered by strangers are killed within the first three hours of abduction. Regardless of the numbers, we need to ask ourselves how this can be stopped and how we can start making a difference. Law enforcement and those concerned about the safety of our children will locate many of them. Faces of the missing may be displayed on flyers or on television, but for a significant percentage of these missing children, that won't be enough to bring them home again. They won't be home unless we care enough to learn their faces, identify them as missing, and make the most important call of the missing child's life. If we don't, the abductors may escape and repeat this crime. Memory Power to Bring Back the Children and Expose the Criminals and TerroristsThis book marks the beginning of a new way for the public to think about helping to solve crime. It also involves powerful community action that will prove criminals can be outsmarted by people with good memories for names and faces and the ability to describe criminals' faces to lawenforcement. Although statistics indicate there are an estimated 4 million pedophiles in America (excluding other types of career criminals), there are also millions of minds that can develop good memories for names and faces and millions of eyes that can watch for children and other missing persons. These capable Million Dollar Minds and eyes can work together in an attempt to stop the crime of kidnapping, which is often followed by molestation and murder. These capable Million Dollar Minds and eyes can assist by helping return peace and order to our lives. We'll utilize our trained memory to instantly recognize and identify missing children, criminals and terrorists and alert law enforcement. We'll find those responsible for committing previous crimes as well. When one of them crosses our path, we'll make the important phone call that will save others from becoming a crime victim because we'll understand what most law enforcement officers say – without intervention almost all career criminals will continue on their path of crime. We'll proudly say, "Bringing criminals and terrorists to the attention of law enforcement and FINDING MISSING CHILDREN IS MY BUSINESS because I want a safer America." |
